The new 2015 Aqua Patio 250 WB is not your average pontoon boat. With a full bar, seating all around, and countless options for chilling and grilling, this tri-toon really is like having your home's  patio, right there on the water. Any yes, you read that right, this is a triple-log boat—that means performance is also rather amazing for a pontoon. We tested it with one of the new 200 HP Evinrude ETEC G2 outboards, and trust us, the feeling at the wheel is exhilarating. We can't put you at the helm of one at this very moment, but we can do the next best thing: bring it to you, on video.

Boat Test Notes

Concept

Build a high-end pontoon boat with all the niceties of a back porch on the water, plus the performance of a fast, powerful, triple-log pontoon.

Construction

-Helm and seat bases are fiberglass, instead of the common roto-molded poly furniture found on most pontoon boats.

-Pontoons are large 25" diameter aluminum, and swim platform extensions are built onto the deck on both sides.

-Decking is covered in vinyl, which provides a grippy non-skid finish.

-Bar is solid-surface, as are the countertops.

Performance

-Test boat had a 200 HP Evinrude ETEC G2 outboard, and hit a top-speed of over 46 MPH.

-Sea-keeping is excellent; this boat is heavier than usual (3,532 pounds when loaded and fueled) which gives it a very solid feel when going through waves.

Handling

- Carving out turns is a joy, thanks to the triple logs and hefty displacement; even in high-speed turns, there's no feeling of losing control.

-Turns fairly flat, without banking in nor out.

-The bar arrangement is very unusual, with multiple grilling locations and actual bar seating. It also allows you to turn the stern of the boat into a fairly well-equipped galley; the only thing you'll miss is a stove, which you really don't need on the water, anyway.

-Since this boat is bigger than the norm—huge, really, for a pontoon boat—you don't lose any of the usual seating or lounges to make room for the bar. Huge forward lounges still provide gobs of seating, and there's a dinette with a table amidships.

-Helm chair is incredibly comfortable. You won't want to give it up, whether you're running the boat or not.
